Without a doubt, Empire has become a mega-success ever since it premiered last year. And it’s only getting bigger with stars like Vivica A. Fox getting added to the cast. She stopped by Kocktails with Khloé for a few drinks and hinted at what we can expect when the show comes back from its mid-season break.
A little background, ICYMI, Fox takes on the dramatic role of Cookie’s older sister Candace. And as if there wasn’t enough drama between sisters Cookie (played by Taraji P. Henson) and Candace, there’s ALSO the middle sister (and drug dealer) Carol, played by Tasha Smith. We don’t know much about the sisters, but we do know that there’s something shady about Carol. After the mid-season finale, we were left wondering what secret she’s been keeping from Cookie. So, just your average Empire shenanigans.
What’s also interesting is how Vivica got discovered for the role. Show creator Lee Daniels saw her on Celebrity Apprentice, and said “Bitch! I have got to figure out some kind of way to get you on this show!” She got the gig by keeping it real in the boardroom.
As for what we can expect when Empire, aka the “black Dynasty” comes back, Fox was tight-lipped. BUT she did give us a little taste of what’s to come from the Lyon family.
“I can tell you this,” she said. “That we’re gonna find out what Carol did. Because that was the cliffhanger ‘What did Carol do?’”
