Ingredients
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cut in quarters
- ¼ cup all purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- ½ cup onions, finely chopped
- Peanut Oil for frying
Preparation
- In a stockpot filled with water, bring potatoes to a boil
- Parboil potatoes just until you can pierce them with a fork, about 10 to 15 minutes
- Let potatoes cool
- Grate them on the big holes of your grater into a bowl
- Add the flour, egg, salt, pepper, and onion
- Gently mix
- Heat the oil up to 360 degrees F
- Scoop about 2 teaspoons potato mixture for each tot in your hand
- Shape the potato mixture gently until it is in the shape of a tater tot
- Gently place in the hot oil
- Fry a few at a time until they are golden brown
- Drain on paper towel
- Keep in a low oven until ready to serve
- Serve with sauce of your choice
