In Austin, queso is the real deal. This weekend at our SXSW Southbites pop up, the FYI Bite Club, we put some of Austin’s queso-experts to a cheesy test with a Quesoff! Food Porn host & major foodie himself, Michael Chernow, hosted and co-judged the cheese face-off. All eight queso recipes blew our minds, but the three winners, were almost too good to be true.

“Cosmic Curry Queso” was a careful combination of exotic Thai spices and herbs blended with choice cheeses bringing together flavors from the East and West and finishing with that perfect hit of umami!
Food Porn Star Winner:

“Frank’s Queso” seamlessly blended avocado, cheddar and chevre cheese into a creamy concoction, garnished with a not so delicate calabrese pepper and agave glazed chicken wing (tortilla chips optional on this one!)
People’s Choice Winner:

“Team Cheesus Queso” won over the cheese-loving crowd with their magically crafted veggie AND meaty quesos – both oozing with fresh flavor, spice and texture.
